SPEAKING WITH CONFIDENCE - TIPS
Most people find speaking to an audience: a business meeting, a conference, a presentation to clients.... very nerve-wracking.
It does not have to be this way. Here are a few do's and don'ts from my course
DO
- Preparare your speaking state: relaxed breathing, warmed-up voice and untensed muscles
- Focus on the audience - what benefit they will be getting from hearing and seeing you
- Practice 'Thinking on your Feet"
- If presenting to an audience, make the 'you' a bigger version of you
- Rehearse
DON'T
- Overprepare - this is the biggest error most of us make. It just increases your anxiety and you will never prepare for every question
- Think of your audience (any group of two or more listeners) as The Enemy
